Graduate School Appoints First Coordinator for Postdoctoral Affairs

July 14, 2016

The Graduate School is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Blessing Enekwe as the First Coordinator of the recently created Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is the joint effort of the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the Graduate School. The Office will be physically located in the Graduate School.

The Coordinator will work with representatives from the three units as well as a Faculty Advisory Board to develop a strong and vibrant community of postdoctoral scholars and to provide access to resources and professional development opportunities. The Coordinator will also serve as a resource to the campus faculty in the recruitment and onboarding of these critical, but often forgotten members of the campus community.

Enekwe earned all of her degrees from the University of Maryland, most recently getting her PhD in Government and Politics this past May. Her experience has spanned both instructional, as well as administrative roles within the university. As a graduate assistant, she served as an advisor, program/project manager, faculty collaborator, teacher, Chief of Staff of the Graduate Student Government, and member of committees within the department, college, and university.
