TerpTax is Open for Spring 2022!
The Graduate School is pleased to announce that they have partnered with TerpTax to offer free tax support for graduate students. TerpTax, housed in the Robert H Smith School of Business provides free, all-inclusive tax return preparation. TerpTax is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) chapter, a program created by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). TerpTax can assist both domestic and international students in filing both their federal and state taxes.
International students must complete their tax returns in order to stay in compliance with their visa. By completing your tax returns with TerpTax as an international student, you’ll easily stay in compliance with your visa. There is no cost for any of TerpTax services and graduate students are encouraged to sign up for an appointment.
TerpTax is now open and offering the majority of their appointments online. They will also have in person appointments from Van Munching Hall. Visit their website (terptaxumd.org) to find information on what to do to prepare for your appointment and to schedule a meeting with a TerpTax representative. There are a limited number of appointments on a first come first serve basis, so make an appointment as soon as possible!
For additional information about the program, visit the TerpTax website. All questions about tax preparation and this service should be directed to TerpTax.
