Graduate School Welcomes New Associate Dean
I am delighted to announce that Dr. Jason Farman has agreed to serve as Associate Dean for Academic Standards and Policies, beginning on or before 1 July 2022. Dr. Farman is a Professor of American Studies and is currently Director of the Design Cultures and Creativity Program in the Honors College. He is also a faculty member with the Human-Computer Interaction Lab and Affiliate Faculty with the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities and the Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Jason received his Ph.D. from the School of Theater, Film, and Television at the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.A. in English from Claremont Graduate University, and a B.A. in Communication Studies and English from Westmont College.
Jason will be following in the footsteps of Dr. Brooke Liu, who is serving her last semester as Associate Dean for Academic Standards and Policies. Although I am happy Brooke is preparing for a well-deserved sabbatical leave, I will miss her wise counsel, impeccable organization, dedication to student success and well-being, cheerful manner, and optimistic outlook.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Farman in his new position, and thanking Dr. Liu for her service.
