Effective Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the non-refundable Graduate Application Fee will increase from $75 to $90 for applicants who are applying for terms after Fall 2026. Beginning August 5,2026, applicants who have started their application for terms after Fall 2026, but have not yet paid will be charged the new non-refundable rate of $90. Those applying for programs that still have admission dates for Fall 2026 will be charged $75. Please note, for those who have already submitted applications for terms beyond Fall 2026, the $15 difference will not be charged.

The University of Maryland (UMD) is committed to our graduate student community, which consists of approximately 10,500 students, 4,600 of whom are pursuing a PhD, 5,200 who are enrolled in traditional and professional master’s programs, and nearly 700 who are not yet seeking a degree but are enrolled in graduate courses or certificate programs.
