Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) supports all postdoctoral researchers across the University of Maryland academic community. OPA provides postdocs with information, training, mentoring, and services in support of their career and professional development. OPA connects postdocs across the campus through wellness and community-building activities, including an annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium held in the fall.

Postdoctoral researchers are a critical part of the University of Maryland, and UMD welcomes postdoctoral researchers in all disciplines. Postdocs bring valuable expertise, national prestige, and additional research funding into the university. We hope that the relationships formed and research done during their tenure here will be most helpful to postdocs’ professional development.
