Writing and Submitting Conference Abstracts - Hybrid
2124 Lee or via Zoom
Presenting at academic conferences is a mainstay of an academic career. Conferences are places where you share early findings, get valuable feedback, and hone your communication skills. In this series about How Academic Conferences work, we’ll demystify the idea of going to a conference. We'll start with writing and submitting abstracts, since that's the first step in attending a conference. Writing an abstract for a conference proposal can be a challenge–you have to be able to describe work you haven’t done yet or you have to summarize a large project. In this session, we’ll talk about strategies for responding to a call for a conference. Participants are encouraged to bring in the calls for conferences in their disciplines and we’ll start to draft abstracts for submission.
