Evelyn Cooper, PhD

Dr. Evelyn E. Cooper is the Assistant Dean and Chief of Operations for The Graduate School at the University of Maryland, specializing in geographical sciences. With 25 years of experience in university teaching and administration, she is passionate about building institutional pipelines to foster STEM excellence and access for all students. Throughout her career, she has excelled at driving operational effectiveness and developing impactful research and programs that bridge opportunity gaps through skills building, career development, and mentorship. Outside of professional life, Dr. Cooper is an avid biker, triathlete, and vigneron (one who grows grapes and makes wine).
