Each year over 100 graduate students take a leave of absence due to financial hardship, dependent care, childbirth adoption, serious health concerns or military leave. Leave of absences are common and a right that is available to graduate students. This virtual session is open to graduate students who want to learn about the leave of absence process and timeline. This is a great session if you are an active military member, planning to start a family/expand a family in graduate school and/or have a history of health issues that at times cause you to seek long-term care. The session will be virtual If you need any accommodations and/or have any questions or concerns, please email gs-counselor@umd.edu.
