All full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at UMD College Park are required to maintain active health insurance coverage. You are invited to learn about your health insurance options and get your questions answered during a live Q&A session. The default insurance option is the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). All graduate students must either enroll in SHIP by September 1, 2026. GAs and TAs are eligible for both SHIP and the State of Maryland Employee Health Plan. They will need to compare and choose the option that best meets their coverage needs.
