All full-time graduate students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at UMD College Park are required to maintain active health insurance coverage. You're invited to attend an upcoming workshop to learn more about your insurance options and get your questions answered during a live Q&A session. The default health insurance plan is the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Grad students must either enroll in SHIP or submit a waiver by September 26. Graduate Assistants are eligible for SHIP as well as the State of Maryland Employee Health Plan. If you’re a Graduate Assistant, you’ll need to compare the options and choose the plan that best fits your needs.
