This session will review current trends in US immigration policy including those impacting easy-mid career researchers; discuss certain commonly used temporary visa options before segueing into pathways for US permanent residence including self-petitioned options (and discuss the types of evidence that can be used to organize and structure a strong case), talk about recent adjudication trends; and finish with an explanation of the visa numbers/retrogress and how that impacts the administrative process for people pursuing these avenues.
