The Graduate School hosted a networking event for new international graduate students on September 20. Hosted by Interim Dean Jeffrey Franke, and attended by various support services across the campus, the program offered an opportunity for international graduate students to build connections.
The centerpiece of the afternoon was a panel, moderated by Dominique Young (Ph.D./English), which focused on establishing relationships with faculty members and colleagues - and navigating that complex and elusive work-life balance graduate students often struggle with. Panelists represented the diversity of the graduate enterprise: Christina Banalopoulou (Ph.D./Theatre and Performance Studies), Rodrigo Ranero (Ph.D./Linguistics), Dimitris Ntogkas (Ph.D./Applied Math), Shuman He (M.S./Business), Shanadev Sinha (Ph.D./Mechanical Engineering), and Lu Liu (Ph.D./Civil and Environmental Engineering).
