Begin your academic year with this series of events to meet other graduate students and learn about services the Graduate School offers to support your academic and professional success.

This week of events is especially targeted towards new students, but ALL graduate students are welcome!

Building your writing and communication toolkit
Tuesday, September 4, 5-7 pm, Prince George's Room, Stamp Student Union

In graduate school, you’ll be required to read, write, and talk to new audiences in new ways about a range of topics. Is your toolkit well-stocked to meet all those demands? At this session, you’ll have the chance to add some tools or figure out how to more effectively use the ones you already have!

OGDI Annual Networking Reception, Dinner, and Resource Fair for Diverse Graduate Students and Faculty

Wednesday, September 5, 5-8 pm, Colony Ballroom, Stamp Student Union

  • Build a cohort of support with new and returning graduate students.
  • Network with a community of scholars and professionals who will share valuable campus resources.
  • Learn about other campus events and initiatives for diverse graduate students.
  • Connect and collaborate with people outside your department.
  • Provide feedback on diversity and inclusion initiatives for graduate students.

Navigating Your Career Speed Sessions
Thursday, September 6, 5-7 pm, Prince George's Room, Stamp Student Union

Participate in three fast-paced interactive sessions. Learn about Resources & Services, Making a Career Plan, and Resumes & Job Search How tos.
No registration required. Just show up and bring a friend if you like!

International Graduate Student Welcome Reception
Friday, September 7, 5-7 pm, Prince George's Room, Stamp Student Union

All new international graduate students are invited to a welcome networking reception. Come and enjoy light refreshments and learn more about and practice American-style networking. You can feel comfortable to come alone or bring another new international student from your classes!
