After you have completed your first semester, you can apply to be Wellness Ambassador by completing an application. Once the application window closes then students will be contacted to attend a wellness retreat which includes lunch and a training on how to develop and assess a wellness program of their own design.
When?
The Wellness Retreat will be in Spring 2025 on a date that ideally works for all applicants.
Where?
The Wellness Retreat will be on campus as a location that will be determined pending on applicants and space availability.
The importance of the Wellness Ambassador?
The wellness and mental health of graduate students are immensely important to the graduate school, college and the campus community. The stigma related to investing into wellness activities and/or seeking support can only be combated by individuals who are open to normalizing activities to support each other and sustain the community which is essential to the success of the UMD community as a whole. This is a great opportunity for graduate students who have enjoyed attending Mental Health First Aid Training, T.E.R.P.S for Terps and who care about mental health and wellness efforts.
How can I stay updated when the application window opens?
The biweekly Graduate Pathways Newsletter provides regular updates to all graduate students. If you are not receiving the Graduate Pathways Newsletter, please contact graduate-dean@umd.edu.
