Giving Day 2018, held on March 8, is the University of Maryland’s largest one-day fundraising event. All members of the University of Maryland community—students, faculty, staff, parents, friends and alumni—are invited to give.

With a population of almost 5 million, the ancient city of Ankara is affectionately known as the ‘Heart of Turkey.’ For centuries, the city has been a crossroads for many cultures, and faiths. Long before the rise of today’s large metropolitan epicenters, Ankara was a global commercial, financial, and administrative focal point.

Parastoo Delgoshaei (PhD '17, Civil Engineering) is a National Research Council (NRC) postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
