Students who have previously earned a master’s degree (at least two years prior) must submit their NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) applications before enrolling (registering for classes) in their PhD programs. Doctoral applicants interested in applying for the NSF GRFP must submit their applications simultaneously with their PhD program applications.
