Commitment to Diversity

Ranked first among the Association of American Universities in the number of doctoral degrees conferred to African-American students in 2013, UMD is committed to fostering a supportive environment for all graduate students, including those from underserved and underrepresented populations.

Give

The Graduate School has spent the past 100 years advancing graduate education and enhancing the graduate student experience through collaboration with the colleges and schools. Responsible for providing academic leadership for over 200 degree programs, we not only build robust research and educational partnerships but we also provide financial and academic support to a diverse student body of scientists, scholars and artists.

Here are a few of the opportunities graduate students have to forge their own innovative, interdisciplinary engagement.
