    By Laurie White  UMD graduate students who like a side of research with their happy hour found the perfect spot at Tuesday’s Grad Terp Exchange at Milkboy Arthouse. Organized by Graduate School Director of Academic and Professional Development Linda Macri, the monthly series features three grad students, a stage and 20 minutes of research in a relaxed setting. October’s theme was “The Body.”

    University of Maryland is delighted to announce our participation in the U21/PwC Innovation Challenge. Universitas 21 (U21) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) are two globally-focused organizations who have come together to offer exclusive professional development opportunities for U21’s graduate students through the Innovation Challenge. This year, three students will win an expenses-paid 7-day trip to Dubai courtesy of PwC.

    By Laurie White  Entering the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition was Fiona Jardine’s next step in bringing her ground-breaking Exclusive Pumping doctoral research to a wider audience.  “I’m in the last year of my PhD, so I'm trying to get my research out there,” she said. “To bring more awareness to this issue for one thing, but also to try to get my voice out there specifically.”
