The sessions are held virtually on Thursdays, and are dedicated to providing resources to graduate students to help them lessen their distress while in Graduate School.

Eat, Grow and Learn Series

Eat. Grow. Learn. UMD

The Eat, Grow and Learn Sessions are dedicated to assisting graduate students with creating connections and finding community. The sessions include a free lunch and a chance to connect with others.

Graduate Student Circle Sessions

Graduate Student Circle UMD

The Graduate Student Circle Sessions are an opportunity to learn about resources and new approaches to addressing concerns, ask questions, and potentially connect with other graduate students. 

These sessions are typically offered monthly, occurring Thursdays during the Fall and Spring semesters from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. They are held virtually via Zoom.

Handshake is a fast, easy, and smart system that connects all UMD students and alumni with jobs, internships and career services. The platform provides access to positions around the world, as well as part-time and full-time jobs on campus and in the surrounding community (as of July 2023, UMD has switched to Handshake as an institution and no longer uses Careers4Terps). Program Award for Graduate Student Mentorship

Starting in the 2022-23 academic year, departments are identified to receive the Program Award for Graduate Student Mentorship from the Graduate School. This award was launched as a way to recognize and honor graduate programs on campus who are setting standards of excellence in mentorship. Each department was chosen based on the following criteria: 

1) Having a strong Statement of Expectations for Graduate Student Mentoring.

A2i Industry Insights (Oct. 2023)

Accelerate to Industry (A2i) Industry Insights module focuses on preparing graduate students and Postdocs for careers in the private sector (also commonly referred to as "business"), non-profit, and government. While this module takes its focus from its name, a comprehensive look at topics related to the job search is covered in this series through talks by industry experts and workshops that cover key competencies topics.
