Meet Simone
Simone Warrick-Bell (she/her/hers) joined The Graduate School in February of 2020. She has a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with the State of Maryland. Prior to joining the Graduate School, Simone served the University community for six years as Care Manager of the Counseling Center, where her primary role was to provide case management services for undergraduate and graduate students and to provide long-term counseling support resources to them.

Consultation Policies
The Graduate School Center for Writing & Oral Communication offers consultations by appointment only. Our writing fellows, all highly accomplished graduate students, are a limited resource shared by the university’s entire graduate student population of about 11,000. Because consultations are limited and in high demand, we ask that you please only schedule appointments that you will be able to keep. To ensure that the fellows are able to meet the demand for consultations, we implement the following policies:
Coping With COVID-19: Mental Health Resources
The COVID-19 outbreak had and continues to have a lasting impact on the emotional and mental health of the UMD community, impacting us even if we haven't directly encountered the virus. Disrupting daily routines and various aspects of life, such as academics and personal activities, it has affected different groups disparately. While some have found solace in adaptations like remote learning, others grapple with mental health challenges and grief.

Panel 1: Doctorates in the NonProfit World - The DC metro region has hundreds of “non-profits” focused on the arts and social issues. In addition, DC is the location of a plethora of national associations and “think tanks.” Are there some issues that you would love to apply your research, leadership and communication skills to for change? Learn more about what is like to work in the non-profit sector as compared to other industries.

GradTerp Forum Author Submission Guidelines
The GradTerp Forum blog welcomes contributions from graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate alumni of the University in any field and at any level. Blog posts should be related to the submitter’s specific field of study rather than being broadly about an area of interest. For example, submitters are encouraged to submit a post about their research findings, their artistic production, the processes, methodologies, theories, or challenges of their field of study, their experiences teaching, performing, or communicating their areas of expertise.
