Each spring the University of Maryland celebrates graduate students who have made outstanding contributions to the University community in the areas of service, involvement, leadership, and scholarship. I invite you to nominate a graduate student for the 2016-2017 Graduate Student Distinguished Service Award. The award will be presented on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the University Student Leadership Awards Program hosted by the Adele H. Stamp Student Union – Center for Campus Life and Omicron Delta Kappa.

All graduate students, especially doctoral students, and postdoctoral research associates are invited. Topics covered include writing, finding funding, job search, work-life balance, and more!

The Graduate School Faculty Mentor of the Year Award recognizes outstanding mentorship by members of the UMD graduate faculty. UMD graduate students are invited to nominate faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to an individual student’s graduate education and/or to the development of programs or other structures benefitting graduate students more broadly. A sum of $1,000 will be awarded to the winners to be used toward furthering mentoring activities. Up to four awards are made annually.
