  • Announcement from the Dean on New Graduate Assistant Stipend Levels

    Dear Colleagues: We are grateful for the support that graduate assistants provide to units across campus on a daily basis. Today we announce that all graduate assistants will receive a 2 percent cost-of-living increase starting in January 2019. This is in line with the increase that faculty and staff will receive in January 2019 as well.

  • Tax Preparation Assistance Program for Graduate Students Opens March 28

    The Graduate School again will provide in-person income-tax preparation, formerly the Tax Assistance Program (TAP) services for graduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park.  In-person income-tax preparation assistance will be provided to graduate students between the end of March to mid-April in Room #5101F McKeldin (this is the Graduate Student Lounge on the 5th floor). In-person income-tax preparation assistance through TPAP is meant to help guide students through Glacier Tax Prep: 

  • COVID-19 Policy Update

    Dear Campus Community,  We are glad to have our full community back on campus and are pleased that with the start of the semester, our COVID-19 cases have remained low and, reassuringly, the new sub-variants of COVID-19 are not translating into severe illness for most people. Over the last two years, we have been able to lessen the burden of COVID-19 within our community, thanks in part to our students, faculty and staff having received the initial vaccine and booster.

    Below are important reminders regarding spring 2023 graduation deadlines and timeframes for graduate students.  Please email us at graduate-dean@umd.edu if you have any questions. Academic Deadlines February 7: Master’s and doctoral students: Final date to submit Application for Graduation in order to graduate this semester/term.
